Appointments

Before requesting an appointment with one of our clinicians, it may be worth looking at our self-referrals page to check if a surgery appointment is needed for the service you require.

How To Request An Appointment

Same Day / Emergency Appointments

We have morning same day appointments. These are released at 08:00 when we open and are on a first come first served basis but we also retain a small number of same day appointments for the afternoon.

These are released at 13:30. These appointments are on an automated timer and cannot be accessed before these times. These appointments are for issues that cannot wait a week or two.

Nurse Appointments

We have an outstanding team of nurses, who are qualified to deal with minor illness; such as colds, conjunctivits, earache, urine infections, rashes, contraception, coughs and dizziness.

Pharmacist Appointments

We have a clinical pharmacist based in the surgery every day if you have a query regarding medication. Calls will be triaged.

Musculoskeletal Consultant Appointments

A musculoskeletal consultant works on a Friday afternoon who can help you with back, neck, knee, joint, hip or shoulder pain. You can book directly in to see him, please ask when you call.

GP Hub Appointments

There is 7 day access to GP and nurse appointments available Monday to Friday in the evening and at the weekends when our surgery is closed.

This is not a walk in service and an appointment has to be booked via our reception team here at Sheet Street Surgery.

When we book an appointment for the hubs we do have to ask the reason for the visit as there are a few exclusions that the hub cannot deal with. These perhaps may be easier for those patients that work full time or for those that rely on other people for transport but they are available for everyone.

Please ask for a hub appointment when you call.

Cancelling An Appointment

If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, this may enable someone else to be seen. If you fail to notify the practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can cancel your appointment in any of the following ways:
