UPDATE: Following the system problems last Friday 19th July, GP Practices are managing a huge backlog. We have been advised to defer non-urgent requests until later in the week. Patients are asked to make contact at a later date if at all possible. Please be reminded that you can call 111 or emergency services if you require urgent or emergency medical care. Thank you

GP Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare their mean earnings (average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at practice.

The average pay for GPs working at Sheet Street Surgery in the last financial year was £74,319.00 before tax and national insurance.

This accounts for 1 full time GP, 4 part time GPs and 1 locum who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.

However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used to for any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices.
